An Isle of Wight family firm
Intro
L&S Timber Solutions is a family business based in Sandown. We design, build and repair fences, decks and sheds for homes and commercial sites across the Isle of Wight — and we take on the exterior jobs that sit around that work, from guttering and fascia to small roof repairs.
The name on the van is timber. The name behind it is L&S Digital. Same family, same island.
How we started
In the early 2000s Lee and Steve were fitting satellite dishes on the mainland as subcontractors. After a few years away from family and friends they came home to the Island. Not long after that, Lee asked Steve about starting a business of their own. That is when L&S Digital was born.
The work was long hours and the phone kept ringing. Lewis joined in 2011. Through the switch from analogue to digital TV the firm grew — until 2020, when the world stopped for a while.
The work we do now
Lee then took a step back. Steve’s trade knowledge — passed down through his brothers, and picked up in his grandad’s hotel, at college and on an apprenticeship — is what the timber side of the business is built on. Fencing, decking, sheds and workshops, plus the smaller exterior jobs: guttering, fascia and modest roof repairs.
From 2024 the books got busier again. Darren moved back to the Island in 2025 and joined the firm in 2026, with his brother and nephew.
How we like to work
The jobs on this site are typical of us. We would rather take a loose wall or a rotten deck frame out and fix it properly than dress over the top of it. Posts get a solid fixing. Gardens get levelled so they can actually be used — including practical layouts for wheelchair access when that is what the customer needs.
